December 2014 - Rudolph Reindeer, AKA "Red-Nosed"

This month we speak to Rudolph Reindeer, Head Reindeer, North Pole Council Reindeer Team.

He explains his career to date, the incident that led to the famous name, and also what's in store for the future.

Hi Rudolph, thanks for speaking with us.

What’s your current role?
Head Reindeer, North Pole Council Reindeer Team.
I report directly to Santa, the CEO.

What can you tell us about your career to date?
I worked for a few of the other big names before the role with Santa and the North Pole Council team.

For example, for a while I was one of the staff for the Easter Bunny, but the work conditions were not what you’d expect so I moved on.  Oh, and there was an unfortunate "egg incident" that also played a part in my departure.

2015 LGMA National Congress and Business Expo - 29 April to 1 May

Take advantage of the 2015 LGMA National Congress & Business Expo Early Bird special!

LGMA National  have lined up some of Australasia’s most respected thought leaders to explore and debate concepts and  leading practice on the topic of Local Government - the value proposition.

While ensuring a strong value proposition has always been critical in the corporate world, it’s now on the public sector agenda. Council CEOs and Mayors around the world are grappling with the need to operate effectively and remain relevant in a complex and inter-dependent world. On an international scale, some local governments have begun to embrace new models in a response to these challenges, from broking innovative solutions with the corporate world, through to creating new hubs for people to connect and explore collaborative learning and business development.

The 2015 LGMA Congress & Business Expo will explore some of these key trends and draw upon examples where local governments have had successes in creating new value propositions in their communities through leadership, partnerships and collaboration. We’ll bring together thought leaders and practitioners to help you determine what your and the council’s value proposition is for your community.

Why not ask a deserving staff member to attend with you and benefit from the heavily discounted mentee registration rates.

Click here for the program and to register

LGMA National is also seeking 15 minutes presentations across a range of topics for breakout sessions. Please see the website Call for presenters for more information.
