A word from the CEO

Welcome to the May edition of Leaders Connect. There is lots to share this month! Our Emerging Leaders Program will celebrate its 15th year as it commences next week, for the first time ever in virtual form, with 28 participants from across the state. I look forward to being part of this and learning from it how best we might adapt our offerings to better serve our regional members in the future.

Also going virtual, are our Women's Network Forum, Management Challenge and Leadership Excellence Awards!

The Women's Network Forum is attracting a fantastic number of regional registrations and we are now committed to offering all network forums in both virtual and live formats in the future.

The Management Challenge is going to truly challenge us all this year - the tasks are ready and we have held our very own mini mock challenge to practice so the teams experience pressure, fun and lots of learning. Good luck to all teams and we look forward to debriefing with you afterwards.

I am also uplifted to hear of so many of your plans to watch our virtual Leadership Excellence Awards. We know many of you are getting frocked up and having watch parties, with appropriate social distancing of course! Please plan to snap photos and send them through early on in the event, you might just see them on screen! Thank you to all the sponsors who have trusted us on this journey and reiterated their support of all the wonderful projects and efforts of our members.

It's looking more and more likely that we will all see each other sooner rather than later, and I very much look forward to that.

Upcoming Programs & Events

Conflict in the workplace is a common occurrence, but it can cause stress and tension for all concerned. Handled well however, conflict can provide an opportunity to improve processes and outcomes, dispel negativity and build relationships. 

This program has been adapted to a live virtual classroom format.

Whilst our networks may not currently be able to meet in person, that certainly hasn't stopped the information sharing, support and connections being made.

We are pleased to share that our Network Forums have gone virtual!

These virtual forums are intended to be informal and a place for you to ask questions of your peers and stay connected.

Community Managers Network
Virtual forums being held fortnightly on a Friday morning at 9:30 AM. The next virtual forum will be held this Friday 29 May.

People and Culture Network
Virtual forums being held fortnightly on a Tuesday or Thursday alternating between morning and afternoon. The next virtual forum will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday 2 June.

Women's Network
The Women's Network will be holding their first virtual network forum 'Stepping Up In Adversity' on Thursday 25 June (via Zoom). This session will be highly interactive.
