LG Professionals SA and LGA Training are pleased to jointly host this CEO Network Session.
Program
Local Government Cyber Security Toolkit
Karin Swiatnik, President, LGITSA
Mark Withers, CEO, City of Port Adelaide Enfield
Richard Tyrcha, Managing Consultant, CyberCX
Cyber security is a significant business risk and the cyber liability insurance market is challenging. The costs for cyber insurance have and continue to increase significantly, cover is being restricted and in some cases organisations may not be able to procure cover if they cannot provide evidence of effective controls.
Council size does not always determine its cyber risk profile. Some smaller councils have significant critical infrastructure or facilities such as nursing homes, where cyber threats have potentially serious or fatal consequences.
The foundational initiative of the LGITSA cyber security strategy is the creation of a Local Government cyber security toolkit, a project assisted by the Local Government Research & Development Scheme administered by the Local Government Association of South Australia.
Learn more about the Local Government cyber security toolkit and framework, which is tiered to cater for different council risk profiles. Hear from your fellow CEOs about their experiences with cyber security, and why adopting a common framework across the sector is so vital.
CEO Connect
James Koch, Culturalchemy
LG Professionals SA and the LGA are pleased to be working together to bring you the CEO Connect Session series.
James Koch of Culturalchemy will once again facilitate this session. James brings a strong practice in facilitating executive leadership experiences in the private and public sector. He understands the local government sector and has a subtle capability to untap perspectives and positively influence leadership culture.
The space he creates for insights to be shared and artfully held, in a dialogue between peers, is transformative. Fun and good humour are elements James weaves into the dialogue, too. Making the session positively impactful for CEOs and, ultimately, the organisations they lead and the communities they serve.
As the final instalment of CEO Connect, this is an important session where James will support the group to deeply explore issues of importance to them.
Thriving in Challenges and Change
Dr Tom Nehmy, Director, Clinical Psychologist, Healthy Minds
We are excited to be joined by Dr Tom Nehmy of ‘The Healthy Minds Program’ who is passionate about wellbeing and building people’s resilience, especially in his home state of SA.
The lifting of the borders, subsequent restrictions on activities, and ensuring a strong, health response to managing COVID-19 will require ongoing leadership within the sector. In this session, Tom will discuss methods for ‘Thriving in Challenges and Change’ and share insights, interesting stories and practical ways to build resilience. Be inspired and refuel your leadership with some useful takeaways.
“We brush our teeth to stop decay, we bend our knees to lift heavy objects and spare our back – but what do we do to have and maintain a healthy mind? I’m excited that we are starting to build an answer to that question.” Dr Tom Nehmy
