A legend of Australian football, Sheedy built an extraordinary career as a player, coach, innovator and community leader. From leading Essendon to four premierships across nearly three decades to pioneering game-changing initiatives that transformed the AFL, Sheedy is renowned for his ability to think differently, unite people behind a vision, and deliver sustained success. Together with a new CEO, Kevin was instrumental in establishing the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team from scratch—an extraordinary achievement in a region traditionally dominated by Rugby League.
Drawing on lessons from elite sport, business and community leadership, Kevin shares practical insights for CEOs and General Managers on navigating adversity, sustaining staff morale, and “backing it up” when challenges continue beyond expectations. With elections postponed and uncertainty extended, his message is timely: pause to acknowledge achievements, celebrate wins, build resilience, and re-focus teams for the next phase of delivery.
