If you’ve ever called LG Professionals SA, chances are you know exactly who Rhiannon is—her high-energy attitude and positivity are infectious, and she channels all of it into her work. After seven years with LG Professionals SA and a background in events and marketing she is well positioned to support the team and Board to deliver on the mission of developing local government people.

It’s fair to say Rhiannon loves her job—to her, the sector feels like a family, and she loves how dedicated our members are to their communities and each other. She loves hearing about all the amazing work being accomplished in the sector and is ready to help you promote them through our Awards Program.

Rivalling her professional responsibilities are Rhiannon’s skills in the old arts—fascinated by everything crafty, she’s a deft hand at crocheting and is slowly working her way through an abstract embroidery project. Her spare time is dedicated to picking up litter as part of a volunteer role at neighbouring parks, taking photos of koalas in her backyard, and keeping her vast collection of indoor plants alive.


MEGAN DOWN

An accomplished events professional, Megan joins LG Professionals SA with over 10 years’ experience managing a wide range of events – from 20-person professional development seminars to charity mud runs with over 3,000 participants and everything in between. Megan has a strong background in event management, stakeholder relations and business development and has worked with association, government and corporate clients, as well as in the not for profit and higher education sectors.

Megan is a strategic thinker who gets a buzz from putting all the puzzle pieces into place to create the perfect event. She loves seeing how events bring people together to connect, share and learn, which has become even more important in recent times.

Megan leads the delivery of all LG Professionals SA events, whether that be Conferences, Management Challenge or Leadership Excellence Awards Program.

In her downtime you will find Megan enjoying coffee or wine with friends, spending time in nature with her husband and two young sons, reading whatever book her book club has coming up this month or cooking up a storm in her kitchen. Her completely useless yet impressive talent is always frothing the exact amount of milk needed for the perfect latte at home.



BECKY KERN

Course Support Officer

With her bubbly, can-do attitude, Becky is responsible for assisting members with their LGA Training needs and invites you to reach out to her with any queries.

In addition to her friendly customer service, Becky has a creative side and is passionate about developing eye-catching material to increase awareness of services and promote elected member and staff training opportunities. It is her goal to make information easily accessible and she works hard to create innovative ways to streamline processes with the user experience always front of mind.

Often mistaken for IT, Becky provides technical support and maintenance in various systems and databases, utilising her tech savvy skills and ability to pick up new systems and programs on the fly. When problem solving, Becky enjoys using ‘out of the box’ solutions and exploring new and efficient ways of developing processes.

In her spare time, Becky teaches Latin dancing and enjoys performing at concerts, occasionally competing in dance competitions interstate. Her love for Latin culture extends to the language, as she is currently learning Spanish so she can start a bilingual family with her Latino partner.



Elyse Hearne

With a wealth of knowledge and experience in not-for-profit marketing, Elyse is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and delivering all of our marketing and communications to you - she's a huge support to the team, and we're so thankful for her passion and commitment to showcasing all that LG Professionals SA has to offer.

Having worked for eight years in a membership organisation prior to joining the LG Professionals SA team, Elyse not only brings experience in membership but also training, professional development, event management and stakeholder engagement.

She loves to travel and has been to America eight times. She is hoping to continue travelling the globe, and perhaps exploring somewhere new on her next trip. Elyse is a movie/tv buff, and it doesn't take much convincing to get her to the cinema or to binge the latest series on Netflix. If not travelling or checking out the latest films, you'll find her spending time with family, friends and her cat Merlin. 



AMY DAVIS

Amy, the newest member of our team, joins LG Professionals SA with over 15 years in the hotel and events industry in Adelaide, London and Cairns.

With true hospitality in her nature, customer service and relationships are at the forefront, and she looks forward to supporting you with any Membership queries and to engage with our many Networks, Leadership Programs and other Member opportunities.

With a bubbly, energetic disposition, she is a commercial all-rounder with expertise in business development, leadership, events and change management. She has a practical, pragmatic work style as well as a lead from the front, hands on approach.

In her spare time you will find Amy either on the netball court or spending time with her little pooch Louie. Amy is also quite the foodie so you will often find her out with friends for a lunch or dinner and exploring beautiful SA and beyond!  



NATASHA BLACK

Natasha joins the LG Professionals SA team after more than seven years with the LGA, with the last three within the LGA Training team. Natasha has a strong track record of driving business and system improvements, strategic initiatives, and partnerships for the benefit of members and is an advocate for continuous improvement.

She is process orientated and resolute in her approach to enhance efficiencies and in turn increase the service value to members across the sector. She has a customer centric focus and desire to increase sector skills and capabilities through accessible and cost-effective offerings.

Natasha spends most of her time outside of work updating a newly acquired property in the beautiful Adelaide Hills with her husband and schnoodle. With two independent daughters, she enjoys a busy social life with friends enjoying the stunning wineries dotted around her. She supports the not-for-profit group ‘Educare – Sharing hope through education’ that gather and send second hand resources to poorer countries oversees, with fundraising, administration tasks, packing and transportation.



CHLOE LOCK

Chloe joined the team in February 2022 and is looking forward to absorbing as much information as she can about the sector. With a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management/Bachelor of Arts she is keen to learn from the team, developing her event management expertise.

Working closely with Megan, she supports the delivery of all LG Professionals SA events.

Originally from Brisbane, Chloe moved to Adelaide at the start of 2021. On the weekends, she plays Rugby Union for Southern Suburbs, after recently discovering a love for the sport. Playing this tough team sport as part of an inspiring group of women is empowering.

A bee lover, Chloe has owned multiple hives of Australian Native Stingless Bees, from which she harvested honey – a challenging but very rewarding hobby.  She loves to go on adventures, whether it's a day trip or overseas. Her last trip was to Japan and she can’t wait to visit again.



LIZ O'FLYNN

Liz joins LG Professionals SA after nine years in the LGA Training team.  She loves people and is passionate about developing holistic learning experiences that are considered and offer goal-orientated learning pathways to positively impact both personal and professional development.

Making a positive difference is at the heart of all Liz does. She is LG Professionals SA’s resident mindfulness practitioner, and with an international qualification in coaching, specialises in mindfulness coaching.

Mindfulness has always been very much part of her everyday and being present underpins her unique approach to life. With decades of personal practice and experience, Liz runs complimentary ‘Mindfulness - Part of your everyday’ sessions each Tuesday at noon that are open to the whole sector. If you are keen to explore a more mindful approach to your life, join Liz for a 20-minute session sometime and experience the life changing benefits mindfulness can offer.  

If you are looking to explore your Elected Member and staff legal and regulatory training needs, connect with Liz.

Outside of work, Liz enjoys propagating plants, taking pride in her expansive garden. You'll often find her reading or listening to a podcast whilst preparing whole food plant-based meals at her gorgeous 1950’s hills home. 



LAUREN MOORE

Lauren has been with LG Professionals SA for more than 5 years now, with her industry experience extending far beyond that. Prior to joining the team, she managed a design studio in the Philippines, worked for not-for-profit organisations and in sports clothing design and production.

Her favourite part about working in the local government sector is the friendly nature of the community and councils working together collaboratively to achieve common goals. Lauren is also a goal setter and loves getting involved in professional development opportunities, many of which are made available through connections in local government.

Lauren is the creative behind all our design collateral and enjoys the variety and challenges of delivering new and innovative ideas.

In her spare time, Lauren loves spending time with her husband, two boys, and their dog Wellington. She keeps busy running her small business creating acrylic earrings and is always keen to get outdoors to cycle and of course take part in her favourite hobby, squidding, when she can find time!



SANDRA DENHOLM

For 20 years, Sandra has worked in bookkeeping and finance roles, with the first 10 of those spent at The Salvation Army before becoming a stay-at-home mum to dote on her two beautiful children.

Sandra has been with LG Professionals SA for six years now and her favourite part of her job is the people she works with and the sense of community within the sector.

She loves sharing her life with her husband and children, but when she does find time to herself, Sandra loves to create beautiful mosaic art and practice the art of upcycling to reuse materials and reduce her carbon footprint. She’s also got some serious talents in the kitchen and makes a mean Malteser fudge!
