Field Workforce Working Group

The support and development of professional development and educational opportunities for Field Workforce staff across the state is a key focus of the LG Professionals SA Board.

LG Professionals SA is proud to support South Australia’s field workforce. The Field Workforce Working Group brings together representatives from across councils working in civil and construction, depot operations, parks and gardens, facilities and fleet, community safety, waste and recycling, and more.

Our purpose is simple: Champion the needs of field employees and co-design practical opportunities that build capability, connection, wellbeing and career pathways across local government.

Working Group Aim:

The LG Professionals SA Field Workforce Working Group aims to provide guidance, advice and support to LG Professionals SA in communicating with and curating relevant opportunities for field employees.

Current Project - Your Voice Matters Survey

We want to hear directly from you on how we can best support you as a Field Workforce member in local government. We’re seeking to learn more about your ideas, the challenges you experience, and what would help make your job better – because everything you share with us will be used to create a supportive environment, with opportunities that are right for you.

This survey is part of an initiative focused on Field Workforce, led by our Working Group which consist of Workforce members who are currently working in local government just like you, and those working closely with these teams, and backed by our Board as one of LG Professionals SA’s key priorities.

We’re asking you to share the survey opportunity in your council. And to encourage survey completions. If you are currently working in or with the Field Workforce, please follow and utilise the links and resources below.
