Join us for our upcoming General Managers Network Forum: Delivering Public Good. 

Welcome to the first General Managers Network Forum of 2020. This year, within the context of significant change in the sector, combined with diminishing community trust and respect in government, our theme will be focussed on how we as General Managers and Directors can help build a collaborative approach to demonstrating the public good that our sector provides to our communities. This needs to reflect on our passion for providing services to our communities with integrity and transparency.

Based on this theme, our first session is to focus on the newly released SA Productivity Commissioner's report into local government costs and efficiency.

One of the fundamental recommendations from the Commissioner's report is the creation of an online, sector-wide performance measurement and reporting system for councils, with an emphasis on creating a culture of continuous improvement and increased transparency.

The Commissioner noted some of the excellent work occurring in our sector, particularly the benchmarking collaboration between the Marion, Port Adelaide Enfield and Charles Sturt councils.  Accordingly, our guest speakers at this forum are Paul Sutton, CEO of the City of Charles Sturt who will present on the benchmarking process and what it means for the sector; and the Presiding Commissioner, Dr Matthew Butlin, who will provide an overview of his report and answer questions.
