Join us as we welcome Hamilton Calder, CEO, Volunteering SA and representatives from the Volunteer Managers Network, Nigel Jordan, Coordinator, Volunteer Services, City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters and Alison Wall, Community & Volunteer Programs Coordinator, City of Prospect. to speak at our next Open Network Meeting.

Hamilton Calder

Volunteering SA & NT is the peak body for volunteering and volunteer support service across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Through key partnerships, they provide a range of services, support and resources for all volunteer involving organisations and almost one million volunteers.

Hamilton’s insightful presentation will help us explore the work Volunteering SA undertake relevant to local government including the opportunities and challenges that come with engaging and working with a volunteer workforce.

Volunteering Network

The Volunteering Network is made up of representatives in the volunteering area from both metropolitan and rural councils across South Australia. Peer support, sharing knowledge and experiences, assisting the sector to advance in best practice, and responding to the changing demands and trends in volunteering, are the key focus areas of the network. This extends beyond the local government sector as members also support and work with Not for Profits and local communities to promote and provide support in volunteer management practices.

Nigel and Alison will bring to the meeting a surveyed response from our network members, looking at the current challenges and opportunities of working with a volunteer workforce within local government, and also discussing the recent impact on Volunteer Recognition for many councils as a result of an Ombudsmen Report on Employee Recognition.

We encourage you to attend to form strong new connections with your peers and participate in discussions that you are passionate about.
